I was raised in a family that started and grew the largest private label apparel manufacturing business in the country which was sold for millons of dollars. Following in my family’s footsteps, I started my first business in 1986 with an artist in Venice, CA designing and selling a unique line of art and clothing. Lack of capital and a challenging partnership sent me back to school in 1989 to get an MBA at USC in Entrepreneurship with an emphasis in Consulting.
In 1989, I joined a business and economic development consulting firm which three of us grew from 3 to 35 employees, $100,000 to $4M in annual revenues and from $25,000 to $7M in assets over a 10 year period.
For almost 25 years, I’ve been either advising small business owners or starting, managing and growing small companies. With so many years of consulting, training and financing experience for small and medium-sized businesses, I've learned the best solutions to many of the common challenges faced by entrepreneurs and executives.
In my own businesses, I struggled with many of the same problems my clients face today. These problems include lack of strategic focus, little accountability, poor goal-setting efforts, no formal sales process, haphazard marketing efforts, and work-life balance challenges, describedon my other website, The Growth Coach LA.
Today I run a successful, thriving marketing and leadership coaching business showing others how to market more affordably and lead more effectively. My clients are green industry businesses, landscape and other trades contractors and businesses in my local market.
We have a proven marketing system that works and has been effective in growing our business. Now we want to share it with others!

Jonathan Goldhill is the owner of The Goldhill Group and The Growth Coach which has been providing business consulting and coaching to growing companies since 2000. Prior to that he grew a small business consulting firm from 3 to 35 employees over a 10 year period.
He is an experienced salesman, marketer, strategist, entrepreneur, consultant, trainer and business coach; and former Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of several small business, which grew from startup to multi-million per year businesses.
Over his 25 year career, he has:
- advised over 1000 owners in marketing and sales
- trained over 750 adults in small business management
- co founded a lending fund that financed over 100 companies
- grown several companies from startup to success in several years
His unique combination of small business coaching, peer group facilitation, and training experience along with a proven marketing system help his clients advance toward their business goals.
